About me

I'm Daniel Lippmann, born 1976 in Heidelberg/Germany and I'm working with SAP for 14 years now. After dropping out of university, I started my studies of business information technologies at Berufsakademie Mannheim with SAP as partner - this way I worked for SAP for 3 months and went to Berufsakademie Mannheim for 3 months. I wrote my diploma thesis about runtimes of upgrades, thanks to Joerg Schoen for his excellent support! Fun fact: His d-number was an anagram of mine - I offer a free beer to everyone who can tell me my d-number...

After my exams, I went to DEGES GmbH in Berlin in 2005, where I administered SAP systems, wrote ABAPs and created a BW system landscape with Portal with my colleague, which should deplace the Crystal Reports reporting. In 2008, I went to perdata GmbH in Leipzig (which is a subsidiary of arvato systems now), where I administered SAP systems and had my first customer projects.

In 2012, I "changed sides" and started as consultant at Palmer AG, where I still work. Although most of my projects are in the SAP basis area, I still program sometimes and even see BW systems sometimes...

That's me...

That's me, some years later, looking into a computer case filled with polyurethane foam (containing a wedding present)...

My hometown

Despite being born in Heidelberg, which some people describe as the most beautiful town on earth, I like Leipzig better. Decide yourself:

Which one do you like better?

My answers

I haven't been mentioned yet, but I start by answering Thomas Zloch's question:

What has been a very embarassing moment in your SAP career? If you can't decide, list them all!

This was UCES, no doubt. After my customer message hasn't been solved after 2 years, I gave up using umlauts in UCES. At least you can enter meter readings!

Since this was only one question, I pick up two others by xMoshe Naveh (Old Acct)

What was your dream job as a kid?

When I was a kid, I dreamt of being an astronaut.

What is your favorite place in the world?

My favorite place in the world is Greece, where I spent 6 years of my childhood...

Blog it forward

First of all, I'd like to blog it forward to the people who were my classmates:

Heiko Ettelbrueck

Hannes Kuehnemund

Mario Tavric

Next, the people who supported me at SAP during my studies:

Andreas Hahn

Joerg Schoen

Levke Bentzien

Mario Herger

Tobias Kaufmann

Last, but not least, the people whose opinion I appreciate:

Andreas Kleinlein

Antonietta D'Addario

Klaus Babl

Miguel Angel Arino Clarke

Reagan Benjamin

Here are my questions:

1. What would you do if you were Hasso Plattner?

2. What was the funniest thing happened during your SAP career?

3. Where would you like to live?
