Hi,
Since past month I am active on the SCN network. My field is BI, but I think the general remark I will make here can be applied to
all fields. First of all I want to give a big cheer to this network, because it is really amazing place for sap
believers, enthusiasts and explorers. Because I retrieved a lot of info from you all, I wanted to make my contribution as well.
So I created some documents, blogs, try to help out other SCN-ers. Just trying to be a good member.
While answering, advising, trying to help out other SAP-ers questions, I noticed one
big common <issue>. Often and I really mean a lot of the time, developers are trying to build things just on
the wrong place. Example: “How can I create a certain filter in WebI?” The obvious answer: “Try to make the filter
in the bex-query” Respons:”I can/do/will/’m not (cap)able to do it on the bex level. This example gives me really grey hair. Just a small step away from pulling my hair out. I see a lot of the time very well “best practices” passing by, created by very good, highly experienced consultants.
So, please guys, really try to follow those best practices, they are not made to be toilet paper.
Kind Regards
Koen
